WELCOME TO IRUSU

IRUSU is a Japanese word that means, ‘ pretending to be out when someone knocks on your door!’.

Whilst that’s probably not the best business model, I love the image it conjures, something cheeky and subversive about it and a little bit reflective of my introverted nature.

‘IRUSU Creative is an outlet for my creativity. So. Why a Tee shirt/ Clothing Brand?

I love Tees, quirky, cool, funny, funky little snapshots of great design. There’s just something about that favourite tee, so comfortable, relaxed; freedom personified in a garment and an outward expression of your inner world.

‘I love Yoga ( Teaching & Practicing ) , travel , illustration ,the discovery of new places and mind-bendingly good chai recipes! I’m transported by art, photography and music & nourished by shared experiences with good friends by writing, poetry and good food.

‘My wanderings have taken me to India and Japan, places which I have fallen for completely. Such strong, beautiful cultures which influence me and inform my practices. Somehow, I imagined I could concertina all my loves into this one big thing. Though right now, it’s not a Big thing , it’s a little seed, a Bija, which I hope will grow and accommodate all my flights of fancy.

For now, that’s Tees, Hoodies, Totes, Caps & Hats. In the future, maybe; prints, cards, shoes, photographs, videos, songs and books.
